- The objective of developing Azithromycin taste masked micro pellets (Multiple unit particulate system i.e. MUPS) by aqueous technology is to fill the micro pellets in to capsule, are compressed into tablet and also are constituted to make the oral suspension. MUPS has distinct advantages over single unit system such as multiple unit particles get distributed throughout the Gl tract thereby avoiding localized accumulation. Micro pellets developed by aqueous technology have also advantage of avoiding the use of organic solvents.
